Client Advocate

LivingWell exists to care for youth, young adults, and their unborn children. In order to accomplish this we must do two things. First, we provide accurate information about abortion, adoption, and the life that is growing inside of every pregnant woman. Second, love the woman for the unique individual she is. To be successful, an Advocate must speak the truth in love. Speaking the truth in love is the principle that guides staff and volunteers at LivingWell who seek to care for women and their unborn children.

Initial and ongoing training is provided in order to be equipped to serve in this position. An Advocate shift is four hours once a week. Periodic informational and training meetings are mandatory for Advocates to attend.

Medical Team

Abstinence Education

LivingWell’s abstinence educators promote the appreciation for and practice of sexual abstinence (purity) until marriage through presentations of age-appropriate, factual and medically accurate information. Presentations are made in schools, church youth groups, and juvenile hall.

LivingWell’s thrift store is an extension of the services offered at the clinic. Youth and young adults who need material assistance are offered support with maternity clothing for mother and clothing and essentials for baby. Volunteers sort, clean, price and display donations or they may cashier.

The time commitment is three to four once a week.

Each year LivingWell has four fund raising event; Walk for Life, Change for Life (baby bottles), Mexican Hot Spot Restaurant (during Nevada County Fair), and our Fall Banquet.

Volunteers assist in a variety of ways; preparation, duties during the event, church liaison, and follow up.

LivingWell is a para-church (para: at or to one side of, beside, side by side) ministry. Working side by side with Christian churches is a privilege. A Liaison is a person passionate about our mission and is willing to be LivingWell’s cheerleader within their own church or fellowship. Periodic bulletin and pulpit announcements are dispersed to churches through the Liaison regarding upcoming trainings, community education opportunities, and fund raising events. Minimal organizational skills are needed. Most important skill is to be able to be enthusiastic about getting your church or fellowship involved with LivingWell.

A team of prayer warriors has been assembled to battle on behalf of LivingWell. Our advocates and medical team are on the front line of the battle field daily fighting for the welfare of the women and teenagers who come to us with an unwanted pregnancy, and for their unborn child. We believe strongly in the sanctity of human life. Each life has equal value and is created and ordained by God; no child is a mistake or an accident.
