| Post Abortion Counseling & Education (PACE)
Abortion does not affect all women in the same manner. Some women may have no apparent signs of physical, psychological or spiritual effects after an abortion experience. Yet women who do end up hurting after an experience are not always understood. Society doesnt provide a place for a woman who has had an abortion to mourn the loss of her child since it is her right to choose. The intensity of her emotional reaction after an abortion may be somewhat of a shock to her and others she tries to share this with. Because of this and other factors involved, she may feel isolated from those she once trusted. She may not have been adequately informed previous to the abortion experience that this type of emotional response was a possibility to watch out for.
The purpose of Post-Abortion Counseling and Education (PACE)is to provide a place for a woman to feel safe in sharing her feelings. This counseling program which lasts approximately 10 12 weeks, takes a woman through the gamut of feelings she may have experienced throughout the abortion experience and afterwards. It helps her identify where she needs healing, the relief and subsequent denial that may follow her experience, her anger and need to forgive those involved in her abortion experience as well as herself, the depression she may have been left with, and final acceptance and freedom from the adverse effects of the whole experience. The PACE program is both secular and biblically based to accommodate the differing needs of our clients. It is provided in a warm and caring, non-judgmental atmosphere where hearts can be healed and lives changed forever.
