LivingWell Thrift Store - where you’ll always get a lot more for a lot less.

Located at 504 Whiting Street in Grass Valley, California, LivingWell Thirft Store offers a variety of merchandise to accommodate the needs of everyone in the family. We have clothing, new and used furniture, household items, books, collectibles, and many more items from which to choose. In addition, we carry an extensive line of baby items including: gently used cribs, car seats, high chairs, play pens, strollers, walkers, and of course…clothing! LivingWell thrift is open from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. every Monday through Saturday.

Voucher Program

LivingWell provides a voucher program for its clients, which allows families with children to receive clothing and other material needs from our thrift store free of charge. LivingWell is currently clothing over 600 women and children throughout the Nevada County community. The goal of the thrift store is to be able to provide for the true needs of our clients. Specific policies have been established for the successful operation of our voucher program.

How the program works

Clients begin at LivingWell Medical Clinic where their material needs are assessed and they are given a voucher accordingly. Clients are then directed to LivingWell Thrift Store where they acquire the items listed on the voucher.

The voucher program is equipped to provide free baby furnishings, maternity clothing, and baby and infant clothing through age five. Clients are allowed to choose seven outfits at no cost once every three months for themselves if necessary, and for the children indicated on their voucher.

Client visits are limited to once every three months for free clothing. Clients are more than welcome to visit the thrift store as often as they choose, however they are only able to receive free clothing once every three months. We understand that occasionally emergencies do arise, subsequently, these cases are be handled on an individual basis.

All voucher items are to be checked out by 4:30 p.m. The store is open until 5:00 p.m., however, the voucher requires additional processing, so we ask that our clients adhere to the 4:30 check out time.

Client’s financial status is evaluated by a counselor at LivingWell Medical Clinic on an annual basis to determine continued eligibility.


Want to Donate?

LivingWell Thrift gladly accepts donations from 10:00-4:00 every day excluding Tuesdays. The Thrift Store does not accept large appliances, computer equipment, bicycles, waterbeds, mattresses or other non-saleable items (items which are not in working condition). If you have a large donation or perhaps items from an estate sale, it is a good idea to call prior to dropping off your donation.
